Workshop scope (LSQCC)ΒΆ
Introduction
As quantum computing continues to advance, the ability to integrate it with high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly important for enabling practical hybrid computational workflows. Such combined approaches are beginning to support scientific applications in physics, chemistry, materials, and optimization, where quantum algorithms can complement large-scale classical simulation and AI-based techniques.
The 2nd Annual Workshop on Large-Scale Quantum-Classical Computing (LSQCC) provides a venue for presenting and discussing recent progress in quantum algorithms, software and system integration, and early-stage hybrid workflows that incorporate HPC and AI components when beneficial. The workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss technical challenges, share practical experiences from both quantum and classical computing environments, and explore near-term opportunities for leveraging quantum computing within broader computational ecosystems.
Topics of Interest
This workshop welcomes contributions related to quantum computing and its integration with high-performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI). Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Quantum algorithms and methods for scientific computing, including physics, chemistry, materials, and optimization.
Hybrid computational workflows that combine quantum computation with HPC or AI components.
Software, middleware, and system integration techniques that enable effective use of quantum computing in larger computational pipelines.
Experiences and case studies from HPC centers, quantum hardware platforms, and research groups developing or deploying hybrid quantum-classical workflows.
Performance evaluation, algorithmic scaling behavior, and practical considerations for running quantum workloads alongside classical and AI-based methods.
Target Audience
This workshop is intended for researchers and practitioners interested in the development and application of quantum computing within broader computational workflows. The target audience includes:
Scientists and researchers working on quantum algorithms for physics, chemistry, materials, optimization, and related domains.
HPC practitioners and system developers exploring how quantum computation can be integrated with large-scale classical resources.
Researchers studying hybrid workflows that incorporate HPC or AI components to support or complement quantum computation.
Software developers building tools, runtime systems, or middleware for quantum or hybrid quantum-classical workloads.
Members of HPC facilities, national laboratories, and research institutions evaluating or deploying quantum computing capabilities.
Graduate students and early-career researchers seeking to understand the practical landscape of quantum-HPC-AI integration.
The workshop is designed to be accessible to participants with backgrounds in quantum computing or classical high-performance computing, with no assumption of deep expertise across all areas.
